BIOPLASTIC MATERIAL STUDIES

Explorations of biodegradable materials, natural pigments, texture and translucency. The research investigates how these materials can be transformed into larger-scale surfaces and spatial elements.

MATERIAL RESEARCH

ICE & PIGMENT STUDIES

Explorations of ice and powdered pigment as transient materials. Pigment suspended in water is frozen into temporary forms, allowing the melting process to generate images through the gradual release and movement of colour.

ABRASION & INK STUDIES

Explorations of ink, surface and abrasion through a process of staining, sanding and drawing. Ink is applied to foam PVC panels with varying degrees of surface preparation, allowing differences in absorption to generate unpredictable fields of colour. The resulting marks are then developed through further abrasion, gradually revealing light, depth and atmospheric structure within the surface.

DRAWING & OBSERVATION

Studies through drawing, ink and other graphic media, exploring landscape, atmosphere, perception and spatial relationships.
